The DIAMOND Radeon HD 5870 is a video card that supports CrossFire and ATI Eyefinity. It has 1GB of GDDR5 memory and is PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready.


The HD 5870 supports DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 and OpenGL 3.2, and also provides HD video performance using ATI Avivo HD technology. It has a GPU clock speed of 850 MHz, which can be boosted to 1.2 GHz, producing up to 2.72 teraflops.


The HD 5870 was released by ATI on September 23, 2009, and is based on the Cypress graphics processor. It requires a minimum of 500 Watt power supply unit, with at least 40 Amps available on the +12 volts rails.
