The Retro 50 (plus AD 50) amplifiers were the first Orange amps to feature ‘Custom Shop’ on the front panel.
It is an extremely hard amp to find, very few numbers were produced as they are hand made.
This amp is serial numbered #110
The Retro 50 is a serious tone monster for a serious player. It is a handwired valve head pushing out a massive sounding 50w of class AB power, switchable down to a more friendly 30w. The cleans are CLEAN, with a slight increase it has an amazing drive, when pushed it has a classic valve crunch. It has a footswitchable tone circuit bypass ("sustain"). This gives you a 'straight through' sound without the gain / tone losses you'll get with any preamp tone circuit.

The cabinet is a classic Orange 4 x12, model PPC412. It has the far superior, and sought after, earlier 2000's MADE IN ENGLAND Celestion Vintage 30 speakers (not the current made in China ones).
