I have here for sale a SET OF TWO books entitled: 

1) LEAVES FROM THE JOURNAL OF OUR LIFE IN THE HIGHLANDS, From 1848 to 1861 To which are Prefixed and Added Extracts from the same Journal giving an Account of Earlier visits to Scotland, and Tours in England and Ireland and Yachting Excursions Edited by Arthur Helps published by Smith, Elder and Co., London, in 1868, first edition; together with 

2) MORE LEAVES FROM THE JOURNAL OF A LIFE IN THE HIGHLANDS From 1862 to 1882 New Edition published by Smith, Elder and Co,; London, in 1885.  First published in 1883.  Here we have recollections from the journals of Queen Victoria of time spent in the Highlands, often at Balmoral, with her family, with some of visits to Ireland and excursions in England.  The first book includes 6 full-page b/w plates and several in-text b/w illustrations, and the second book includes 13 full-page b/w plates.

Soft green cloth boards with a blind stamped border and cipher of Queen Victoria on the front board and gilt lettering on the spine.  Minor wear along the edges.  Name of previous owner on More Leaves.  Stains to rear endpapers and plates in Leaves, with light foxing to pages of both books.  Both hinges cracked in Leaves but all pages are firm, as they are in More Leaves, and both books are in very good condition.  Leaves: xiv, 219 pages.  More Leaves: x, 272 pages.  17.5 x 12 cm.

Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK.  If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money. We wrap and post the parcels on Monday and Tuesday - therefore if you pay before midday on Tuesday we will get it in the postal sacks on Tuesday night, and if it is after that time then it will go into the postal service on the following Monday.
