your consideration is this Elegant Decorative Antique B & C L. Bernardaud
& Co Limoges France Large Serving Oval Platter/Tray circa 1914-1930's.
The
Platter has a stunning design and floral decoration and it is also in a great
condition - a Rare Find!
This
striking china piece has blue band pattern featuring yellow and red/brown
flowers and green leaves alternating with medallions/cartouches featuring vases
filled with fruits in on a white china background with gold trim. Strong,
Vibrant Colors - this really is a beautiful pattern.
This
pattern is typical of the late 1910's tableware decor fashion but this one is
particularly delicate and charming.
It
is marked Bernardaud which is, along with Haviland, the most famous Limoges
porcelain maker. Its pieces are sought after for their elegance and high
quality of the material used.
This
pattern is full of tiny little details, absolutely charming and very elegant.
The platter was decorated by a
talented artist. The color palette used
is blue, yellow, rust & green on white w/gold. The flower garland is bright and
eye-catching.
This
platter will make an excellent addition to your dining collection and would be
a beautiful display in your china cabinet as well.

elegant pattern that was produced by Bernardaud & Co Limoges France between
1914-1930's time period.
This
exceptional piece of Antique L. Bernardaud & Co china is in a great
condition with minimal use. It is shiny and new-looking.
Approximate
Measurements: this oval platter is 15 1/2" long by 12 " wide with a
height of 1 1/2".
The
Piece is heavy - weighs 3 pounds 13.8 oz unboxed.
Marked
on bottom in green underglaze "B & Co Limoges France" and in red
underglaze "L Bernardaud & Co Limoges".
History/Marks:
Remy Delinieres and P. Guery established a pottery in the 1860’s in Limoges,
France. Delinieres became head of the
company after 1879 and established a porcelain decorating shop in 1881 as part
of the factory. In 1900, the company
becomes Leon Bernardaud & Co. Leon
& his father had worked for Delinieres and eventually purchased the
company. Leon Bernardaud’s family continued his company which is still in
operation. The marks on these are green underglaze white ware mark used
1914-1930's as cited in her Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd
edition. This dates this piece to the
1914-1930's time period.
This
gorgeous platter is in excellent antique condition. Well-cared for, it has no damage or material
wear. No chips, nicks, cracks, repairs,
or wear to the design. Minimal utensil marks, excellent gently used condition.
Overall, the gold trim is solid & glossy with only minor rubbing wear. This
is a piece we would proudly use. As with all items of antique china, there may
be slight factory imperfections but nothing that detracts from the beauty or
