Milton Avery (1885-1965) is a well-listed American modernist painter and printmaker. He was regarded as the "American Matisse" because of his simplistic linear images and subtle use of color. His works can be found in many important collections including the Brooklyn Museum; the Museum of Modern Art; the Phillips Collection, Washington D.C.; the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Smithsonian American Art Museum; the Metropolitan Museum of N.Y.; the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.; and the Museum of Fine Art in Boston.

Artwork for sale is a reproduction of a Milton Avery drawing depicting figures walking along a beach road. The image is signed in the plate. The scene is on a small sheet of cardstock. Date is probably from the 1960's. In the custom, acid-free mat, the artwork measures 16" high x 19" across. The artwork itself is 5" high x 6" across. This is not an original signed Milton Avery drawing but it is a fine reproduction that looks like a genuine drawing and was purchased in an auction sale.
