THE TURTLES - LP

Album

Description

This is a album by The Turtles titled "Turtle Soup". Released in 1969 by White Whale Records. In stereo. A promo record. #WWS-7124. Length: 37:25, 12 pop, rock songs. The record is in new condition because it has not been played. This has been stored upright on my album rack in my home. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. The gatefold jacket is still in good condition with a promotional sticker on the front. The all white sleeve inside is also in good condition. Ebay gives 2 choices when listing: New or Old. Record did not just come off the assembly line. But then it's not played. What to do? I've chosen used because it's 55 years old. If you do a youtube search for "the turtles turtle soup full album" you'll see a selection on the right to click on "Play Album" for you to listen to before making your purchase. Or click here for one of them if ebay doesn't remove the link:

The Turtles were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1965 and best known for their 1967 hit song "Happy Together". They were one of the more enjoyable American pop groups of the '60s, moving from folk-rock inspired by the Byrds to a sparkling fusion of Zombies-inspired chamber pop and straight-ahead, good-time pop reminiscent of the Lovin' Spoonful, the whole infused with beautiful vocal harmonies courtesy of dual frontmen Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman.

"Turtle Soup" was their fifth and final studio album. It was released in 1969 on the White Whale Records label. The album was produced by Ray Davies of the Kinks – the first time he produced another act's record. It peaked at number 117 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. Two singles from the album also earned a place on the Billboard Pop Singles chart: "You Don't Have to Walk in the Rain" (number 51), and "Love in the City" (number 91). ©Wikipedia
