Video Warehouse made some effort with their N1700 releases, adapting sleeves to suit the odd-sized videocassettes. I have owned 3 titles on this label, a cartoon, a John Wayne classic western, and this John Carpenter movie. I have never seen another, nor heard of another in anyone's collection anywhere. Hence the price, which may seem high, but once this is sold I know it is virtually impossible for me to ever locate another. Therefore, if it doesn't sell, I'll happily keep it in my collection. However, if you do buy it, please read the notes on the condition of these tapes.
From the dawn of video, this format was soon replaced by VHS and Beta, and although 1000s of blank tapes are still out there, pre-recorded tapes are incredibly rare.
I am selling some tapes from my small collection of N1700 tapes - these are one of a kind items and in 20 years of collecting them they are the only copies of each title I have owned.
This tape is unplayed and untested, and is sold as a collector's pieces only. I cannot guarantee it will play. If it does, it will only play on Philips N1700/N1500 VCRs and only if you can find one that works. It will not play on Beta, VHS, V2000, laserdisc, CED, VHD, DVD, Blu Ray, 4K players. Consider this is a unique collectible - you will likely be the only John Carpenter fan to own this film on this format of UK pre cert.
And if you get this to play please remember the quality will be analogue - these tapes are more than 40 years old.
