fold-out 1853 antique lithographed diagram of piers and pilings under
construction
for the ice harbor on
the east side of Reedy Island in the lower Delaware River.
- The figures were traced from
a drawing made by Lieutenant
Thomas Lincoln Casey under the direction of Brevet Major John
Sanders, United States
Corps of Engineers, Fort Delaware.
- The image area measures 34 x 51 cm
[13½" x 20"].
- A legend key gives information on the dimensions and
arrangement of piers
and pilings, as well as methods of attachment, on a scale of 1:96.
- This sheet was lithographed by Wagner & McGuigan,
Philadelphia and published in a report
by the President of the
United States to the First Session of the 33rd Congress, Washington,
D.C., 1853.

Condition: It is in very good condition, bright
and clean, with folds, as issued, and no
rips, tears, or writing. It is printed on a
lightweight paper, typical of mid-19th century
government fold-outs. It is
blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side. It folds to
approximately 5" x 8½". Please see the scans and feel free to ask any
