Closure on the front was a beautiful ornate clasp. (the half remaining)
The top and bottom page ends signed by the Owner (please, see photos). Name is Mrs. Polman.

The
pocket Bible loved and used a lot.... The leather cover preserved well with some distressed edges, especially the missing flap area.
Strong binding throughout book-save the first few pages. These seem looser but firmly attached to front cover.
No damage to the majority of the book-though there are two pages that have broken off a bottom corner. One can be found within the book. The addition of a separate page has been taped to the last page. It is titled "Catechismus of Onderwijzing" (translates to say Catechism or Teachings)
This is an extraordinary look at the Dutch Reformist Christian religion. I have never seen the Psalms set to music before. Subsections throughout book are Het Nieuwe Testament (New Testament), Het Boek Pslamen (Psalms), Verklaaring (formal announcement), Eenige Gezangen (Some more songs), Hervormde Gemeeten (Reformed Measurements).
