This is a book of Dharma Talks by an eminent Master of the Korean Jogye Order. If you're wondering about the Jogye Order in brief: Chinul (an influential teaching monk of Zen Buddhism in Korea) combined practices of Korean Seon (Zen), with elements of Sutra based schools and Pure Land Buddhism (source: Wikipedia!). I've always found the Korean Zen approach included more direct focus on subjects like Karma and dependent origination than other Zen Buddhist schools this is very helpful in understanding the philosophy, and makes you waste less time in guess work. Teacher Cheonghwa took the precepts in 1947 at Baekyang Monastary, remaining there for most of his life until his passing in 2003. This book is comprised of his most important teachings.
