Originally published shortly after World War I in 1920, this book presents the virtues and failings of helmets and body armor in warfare of the time. To this end, it brings together materials collected from all accessible sources; it shows the kinds of armor which each nation used in World War I, their strengths, and weaknesses. The book was revised during World War II to assess changes in body armor. A supplementary section is included at the back of this book.
