Art Deco 8 day Mantle Clock  mechanism FWD Needham Birmingham
This is a family owned clock that presently is not running and is probably in need of a mechanical clean by an Horologist the price reflects this. This is a standard non striking pendulum time piece
I have been recently reliably informed by Mr Rossiter, that the clock is labeled as a Rossiter & Sons (base in Weston-Super-Mare) however,  was probably made by FWD Needham in Birmingham who have not existed for at least 30 years
Please note in the top righthand side of the mechanism brass plate there is a letter "K" and near the tail of the plate British made - please see photo 3
The face of the clock is approx 14cm, the clock itself is 22cm in hight, length 27cms, depth 15cm - all sizes are approx
The curved design of the clock and the foot shape suggest early 1920's, 8 day floating balance mechanism, the clock comes with a pendulum and winding key
Weight 1,424g
The clock makes a ticking sound when moved however it has not be wound for years - so the clock could be refurbished by a Horologist or repurposed into a planter, or the inner workings of the clock could could be used as spares or repairs, the clock could just be used as a prop or as a Diorama setting
I have been advised by sultan_of_ping that the clock pictured has a pendulum, not a floating balance - PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR MORE INFORMATION BEFORE PURCHASE
