THE MODEL SCREW YACHT COMET

This antique "wind up" pond yacht appears to date from the late 19th century.

The 25 1/2-inch-long yacht "Comet" comes in its original wooden box with label on top.

The label reads: "THE MODEL SCREW YACHT Will Cross the Round Pond in Kensington Gardens"

The Round Pond in Kensington Gardens in London has been the home of model yacht racing in London since 1876.

This model yacht has a wind-up mechanism that will run the yacht for up to 200 yards.

This model yacht needs work. It appears to retain the mast and the rigging for the sails.

There is a small piece of one of the sails, but this yacht needs new sails, and the "wind up" mechanism needs work.

There is a small repair to the surface of the hull.

The original box is missing part of its top.
