Chretien Hypergonar HI-FI-2 Precision Anamorphic Lens

Cosmetic condition is good for its age, light fungus, some light scratches.

Can be used for both projection and scope cine filming.

The ultimate anamorphic cinemascope lens, originally created by astronomer Henri Chrétien in 1926.

With its unique anamorphic look, including striking lens flares, oval bokeh, and cinematic texture, the Hypergonar lens is the ideal choice for modern DSLR filmmakers.

Unlike later lens designs that sought to reduce lens flare, this vintage Hypergonar offers a distinctive cinematic character. It outperforms many anamorphic lenses, including the highly praised Iscorama.

Hypergonar Hi-Fi-2 is a substantial 35mm lens that delivers ample light and minimal to no vignetting on full-frame cameras like the 5D.

The lens features a rear element size of approximately 65mm, larger than even the Isco 54. The front filter size is 82mm.

In terms of sharpness, this Hypergonar rivals modern lenses. When properly focused, there's little difference in sharpness compared to using your prime lens alone.
