A pair of paintings of the MacDonnell Ranges — two views from a similar point, by Basil Rantji. Each signed. The pictures are sensitively set in matching frames and mounts behind protective glass, and sealed at the rear.

Its very rare to come across such a pair, these are a delight, ready to hang.

Born 12/12/1936 at Hermannsburg, the son of Edward and Angelika. Basil Rantji is a member of the Arunta school of Aboriginal watercolour artists. A nephew of Albert Namatjira, he was taught by Albert whilst still a child.

Size: the painted area measures about 18.5 x 26.5 cm, frame is 35 x 42cm, combined unpacked weight is about 3 Kg.

Condition: pictures are in very excellent vintage condition, the colours are strong, vivid and vibrant; the frame is similarly excellent.
