Curved Air

'Air Cut'

Warner Bros, UK, 1973

K46224

FOUR STUDIO ALBUMS into their career and Curved Air had changed dramatically - and also hit a brick wall financially. Splitting up they were then forced to reform to pay off a large tax bill and stave off the effects of near bankruptcy. Switching labels to Warner Bros. original band members Kristina and Mike Wedgewood unearthed some amazing replacements including new guitarist Kirby Gregory and emerging violinist Eddie Jobson. The quality of the material was equally impressive giving the band a new lease of life. With vocalist Sonja Kristina taking the bull by the horns and delivering a particularly frantic performance the long complex tracks showcase a band ready to take risks.

Great progressive rock from one of the best, certainly most underrated, bands of the golden prog era.
