Blue & Green Labradorite Reversible DragonFly Pendant in 925 Sterling Silver on Milor Italy 950 Sterling Silver Snake Chain 18"

The beautiful pendant has so much going for it -- the iridescent labradorite stone, the pendant reverses to show a stylized dragonfly, a new Milor sterling silver snake chain, and more.

The kaleidoscope of color in the labradorite stone isn't always immediately obvious. In dim or indirect lighting, the stone may appear to be a highly polished black glass or gemstone that is very beautiful. But as soon as stronger light hits the stone, it comes to life in blue, green and gold. The color fluctuates as light and movement change the stone. 

• The new Milor Italy 950 sterling silver snake chain is 3 mm thick by 18-inches long, and it is fully marked on a tag on the chain.

• The retired and rare Sajen pendant is 1.25 inches from the top of the bail by .75 inches long.

• The pendant is 925 sterling silver, and is marked inside the fixed bail.

• Double dragonflies on the reverse side of the pendant are drawn in sterling silver on a polished black surface, possibly onyx or black glass.

The pendant is in excellent pre-owned condition, without tarnish, oxidation or wear. If there are scratches or wear to the pendant, it's not visible to the naked eye. The prior owner clearly took good care of the pendant by storing it away from air and moisture when not in use. I matched the pendant with a new Milor snake chain that is made of 950 sterling silver; 950 is a better caliber of sterling silver than 925, with a higher percentage of silver than 925 sterling silver.

Labradorite is known for its rainbow-like iridescence, which is caused by the interference of light and motion. It’s sometimes called rainbow moonstone because it has an iridescent effect. It’s not the same as true moonstone, however, since it is translucent and has an internal glow. When cut into a cabochon, it’s easy to see the iridescent effects. The best colors will be displayed when the base of the cabochon is parallel to the layers. This creates a mystical glow that comes to life when the stone is moved.

Labradorite is associated with magic, spirituality, transformation, protection, and intuition. Some believe that placing the stone near your head can stimulate intuition and dreaming.
