This and several other presidential items came from the Estate sale of a U.S. Navy Command Master Chief. He served under JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Reagan. Some ships under his command were the "Shelton”, "Henrico", and “Proteus”. He retired in 1986 but still played a role close to presidents, since he had an extensive collection of gifts, personalized White House invitations, Christmas cards, signed pictures, and commendations from each president up until Trump. He was commissioned as Honorary Captain of the Sequoia which was the Presidential Yacht from Hoover in 1925 to Clinton who was the last sitting President to board.
The colors have faded due to sun exposure and some moisture got inside the glass. The photograph is signed by 6 Presidents, . SAM 27000 (Boeing VC-137C)
entered service during the Nixon Administration in 1972. It served all US presidents until George W Bush and was retired in 2001.
