Revell 1/72nd scale F-16 A Fighting Falcon kit, 2006
issue, catalogue number 04363. Extremely
well-detailed kit, typical of a lot of Revell’s output at this time – like the
1/72nd Tornado and F-104 kits, it really is packed with detail. As you can see, this is another mostly “special
scheme” boxing with an impressive and extensive decal sheet, but the kit itself
is great - all the surface detail is done with crisply engraved lines, the
cockpit’s very well done (8 parts including a clear HUD, optional instrument
decals, optional pilot figure), there’s a great undercart with full detail
inside all the gear bays, internal detail in the burner can, and the canopy may
be displayed open. The delicacy and
finesse of moulding of some parts is very impressive, like the control columns,
undercart struts, and various antennae.
You get a full array of pylons and a trio of drop tanks, plus sidewinder
AAMs to choose either wingtip or underwing display; or, if you’re doing an airshow example, maybe
leaving it “clean” to show off the classic jet fighter lines would be a nice
option. A major highlight of this boxing
is surely the superb decal sheet, crisply printed and including the “special”
markings for three options – the box art Belgian 349 Sqn 50th
anniversary markings from 1992, with an entire Battle of Britain Spitfire
painted on the back, with large lettering and a medieval mace underneath – all faithfully
reproduced on the brilliant decal sheet.
Then you have two from the Netherlands, the infamous “Diana”, who
curvaceously celebrated 50 years of 323 Sqn in 1998. No bouncy landings, please. Then you have the relatively sedate “Redskins”
40th anniversary markings from 1992 to round out the set. Very impressive stuff, for an in-the-box
decal sheet, and you get probably the best F-16 kit in the scale as well. Kit parts are still sealed in the
manufacturer's inner bags. Kit is
complete and intact, unmade, with decals and instructions as new.
International bidders welcome, I’m signed up for the eBay Global Shipping Programme so costs for delivery to your part of the world should be shown on the listing (these numbers come from eBay – all I do is post the item to a UK address and eBay’s delivery partners take things from there). I’m always happy to combine items in one package to – hopefully - save you postage costs, and save me some parcelling-up. Shipping is always charged at cost, with options given to the buyer where appropriate, and (sturdy, careful) packaging is free. Any queries, feel free to message me and ask. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!
