Vintage
fold-out Conoco 1934 road map of Illinois, printed more than 90 years
ago.

This map opens to 24" x 18" and has great
detail on old road alignments, including U.S. Route 66, with
cartography by H.M. Gousha.

On the reverse side there are inset plans of Decatur, Peoria, Rockford,
Springfield, and Chicago and vicinity,
including Winnetka, Elmhurst, Berwyn, Cicero, Oaklawn, Argo, and
Calumet City.

There is also a 3-panel view of the Conoco Travel Bureau branch office
in
downtown Chicago.

The map was distributed by the Continental Oil Company in 1934 and is
dated by the code letter in the lower margin: H. Population data is
from the 1930 census. Little triangle symbols locate Conoco gas
stations.

condition,
bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears.
