Graceful, , full-size Wedgwood Majolica pitcher in rich blue-green has a lush, allover scrolling grapevine motif . The bas-relief design looks spruce green in some lights, and a darker teal in others. The variegated glossy finish, with its sensitive handling of light and shadow - the tendrils are almost nude, while the background manifests deep, pooled color- is stunning.

Full-size pitcher ( a creamer was also made in this pattern) measures about 7 1/2" high at the spout, and about 8 3/4" at the handle's peak. The body is about 5 1/2" wide. The substantial vessel holds about 7 cups, filled normally ( eight to the rim).

The piece is in very good vintage condition, with a single chip on one side of the spout, as shown in the photos. The imperfection has been taken into account in the pricing of the piece.

To the best of my ability to decode the Wedgwood dating system, the piece was crafted in January of 1969.

Lovely, traditional pitcher will be carefully packed and shipped USPS Ground Advantage from Los Angeles.
