I have here for sale a book entitled GELATI, DOLCI FREDDI, RINFRESCHI, BIBITE REFIGERANTI, CONSERVE E COMPOSTE DI FRUTTA E L'ARTE DI BEN PRESENTARLI, by G Ciocca.  A second edition published by Ulrico Hoepli, Milan in 1922.  This is a desserts, ice creams, drinks, jams and compote cookbook.  It is illustrated with 146 b/w drawings and 4 double colour plates. 

Giuseppe Ciocca (1867 – 1950) was an Italian writer of gastronomy books and a pastry chef.  Ciocca was considered the most important Italian pastry chef of his time, and a pastry chef ahead of his time.  He is also remembered for his Di lui The Modern Pastry Chef and Confectioner (1907), which was published numerous times, and for being the greatest panettone expert of the period.

Light brown hardboards with small b/w illustrations to the front board with an orange panel across the top.  Black and white title lettering.  Boards are creased and there is a small split in the front board.  The spine covering is missing and someone has repaired it with linen tapes and brown tape.  Internally the pages are a little sunned and have the odd mark, but largely clean.  Ink inscription to the rear endpaper.  Final page has been taped to the rear board to hold it together.  Condition: fair but you should redo the spine!  252 pages, 16 x 11 cm.

We wrap and post the parcels on Monday and Tuesday - therefore if you pay before midday on Tuesday we will get it in the postal sacks on Tuesday night, and if it is after that time then it will go into the postal service on the following Monday.
