Vintage Balinese Ganesha.
A porous cast volcanic stone carving depicting a seated four-armed elephant head figure on a lotus base. Ganesha, a hindu deity is known as  a remover of obstacles, a grantor of wishes and in Bali as a protector. This small household rendition has a marvelous lichen and moss patina with an additional figure on the backside of a Barong mask. In Balinese mythology the Barong is the King of the Spirits and keeps the bad spirits away.
