T
his listing is for a lot of two slide trombones.
These are former school horns that have been retired by the district that owned them. As such, they have taken their share of knocks. These are being sold as is for parts or repair. These are both in poor condition, and definitely not playable in their current state. To be honest, they probably aren't worth fixing, but maybe could be valuable for parts, or for use in some type of art or craft project. Below are specifics on the condition of each instrument.

Elkhorn (Getzen) - The "U" bend of the main slide is very badly dented. It is almost flat in fact. It appears to be missing a reinforcement piece on the end of the slide as well. The "U" bend of the tuning slide is also dented pretty badly. There are additional small dings, pings, and nicks elsewhere. There is some rippling on the bell. The tuning slide is free. The main slide is not gliding smoothly. The lacquer is almost completely worn off throughout the instrument. There is a school ID marking hand etched on the bell. This one comes in a wood shell case that is in fair condition. The interior is clean and odor free. The exterior is well worn, especially around the edges, and has some tape around the edges as well. It has an inventory number written on the exterior of the case in white permanent marker.

Holton - The "U" bend of the tuning slide has multiple dents. There are additional small dings, pings, and nicks throughout the rest of instrument. There is a section that has come unsoldered. There are several cracks in the bell (presumably from bad dent work). There is a big glob of solder partially covering a couple of them. It is probably one of the worst and most ineffective repair jobs I've ever seen. The tuning slide is free. The main slide is moving with much difficulty. The lacquer is mostly intact, with scratching throughout the instrument. There is a school ID marking hand etched on the bell. This one comes in a plastic shell case. The interior is clean and odor free, but there is some exposed wood blocking where fabric is missing. There are a couple of bumpers missing from the exterior. It has an inventory number written on the exterior of the case in white permanent marker.

There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included with these instruments.
