Large Brutalist Danish Coffee Table Rolf Middelboe & Gorm Lindum for Tranekaer.

This stunning Brutalist coffee table was made by Tranekaer of Denmark. It has an original brass badge on one leg and the Danish Control Mark sticker to the underside.

Designed by Rolf Middelboe and Gorm Lindum this really is a superb piece of functional art. The end grain of small blocks of Wenge, Teak, Oak and others have been carefully placed to form a symmetrical pixelated design to the top.

The table has been sanded back to 240 grit, and then given three coats of danish oil to enhance the colour of the grain and to provide a water and heat resistant finish.

It dates from the late 70s/early 80s and was retailed originally by Harrods

52” wide, 31.75” deep and 19.75” tall
