The system is being sold as used but not working. Although the system powers up when attempting to download and run the Flex example code an error is reported after the initial download to the base unit/emulator pod/head has been attempted.
Each pod is supplied with a small test circuit to allow the basic functionality for each emulator pod to be tested. Unfortunately I have unable to verify this due to the above mentioned error.
In the past this system has been successfully used to develop several 68000 and 8085 based systems. The original cost of this system was over £7500. At the time, it was a very powerful emulator system with features matching/exceeding those of far costlier systems.
This is a 68000/68001 and 8085 in-circuit emulator system comprising:
- Noral SDT-XFi base unit - Model NA-5021
- Noral SDT-X 68K series emulator 'super pod' - Model NA-2024
- Noral SDT-X 8085 series emulator pod - Model NA-2014
- Noral 68000 Emulation head supplied with 68HC001 processor
Noral 68000 Emulation head supplied with 68HC001 processor - spare
Noral 8085/C85 Emulation head
Noral Flex software v1.71 for Windows 95. Please note this software has not been tested or installed on PCs running later windows versions
- Noral fibre optic interface with AT bus interface card and 5m fibre optic cable. Also supplied with spare long length of optic fibre allowing longer distances between the PC and the base unit.
General Features
- The 68K super pod in conjunction with specific emulator pods supports the following processors: 68000(PLCC and DIL), 68008(PLCC and DIL), 68010(PLCC), 68HC001(PLCC), 68EC001(PLCC), 68EC000(PLCC),
68302(PGA)90C100/93C100/97C100/90C110/93C101(modes 1,2 and 3 PLCC). Note: this sytem is being sold with a 68000/68HC001 emulator pod
Real-time non-intrusive 0 wait-state in-circuit emulation.
- Powerful bus based hardware breakpoint system with comparators for address, data, bus cycle and external I/O.
- Event detect and sequencing system featuring IF event THEN action capabilities. For example "IF start of function THEN start timer running" and "IF end of function THEN stop timer running".
- 32K deep real-time trace buffer with 32 bit timestamp.
- Trace buffer input filtering.
- Trace buffer can be read whilst the target continues real-time execution.
- 256KB mainframe Overlay memory
- Memory addressing violations are detected and execution breaks can be initiated.
- Execution breakpoint system supporting an unlimited number of breakpoints.
- High speed fibre optic communications interface capable of downloading CODE into memory at speeds in excess of 60KB per second.
- An external input signal feeds into the hardware breakpoint system, the trace buffer and the event detect and sequencing system.
- An additional 8 external logic inputs are available.
- Widerange of 8 and 16 bit processor support.
