This King Seiko 5626 is a Chronometer automatic watch produced by Seiko in the late 1960s and early 1970s 1. It is part of the King Seiko line, which was created to compete with Grand Seiko watches. The watch features a Hi-Beat movement, which means it has a higher frequency than most other mechanical watches, and it is Chronometer certified for ultra-accuracy.

Grand Seiko (GS) and King Seiko (KS) are the most expensive Japan made watches in the 70s, Grand Seiko continued on until this day and had revolutionized its dial and movement, but King Seiko stopped production after 1975. In 2022 Seiko bring back the King Seiko Limited Edition to celebrate the company 110 years anniversary.

The KS Hi-Beat and KS Chronometer Hi-Beat are considered "Grail" watches during the time that I lived in Japan for their accuracy. It is still in good condition, just normal wear and tear.
