Have just been on display in our colonial room but changing the look means they have to go.

DULWICH COLLEGE

Dulwich College is a 2–18 private, day and boarding school for boys in Dulwich, London, England. As a public school, it began as the College of God's Gift, founded in 1619 by Elizabethan actor Edward Alleyn, with the original purpose of educating 12 poor scholars. It began to grow into a large school from 1857, and took its current form in 1870 when it moved into its current premises.

HISTORY of FIVES:

Eton fives, a derivative of the British game of fives, is a handball game, similar to Rugby fives, played as doubles in a three-sided court. The object is to force the other team to fail to hit the ball 'up' off the front wall, using any variety of wall or ledge combinations as long as the ball is played 'up' before it bounces twice. Eton fives is an uncommon sport, with only a few courts, most of them as part of the facilities of the independent schools in the United Kingdom.

These trophies were both presented to A.H.FRICKE for the “DULWICH COLLEGE FIVES SINGLES 1920” & “FIVES CHALLENGE CUP 1922 (SINGLES)”

Great piece of Dulwich College history. Would be great to see them go back home!
