Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. First Edition. 2 volumes. Volume 1: lxxi, fold-out, 314pp. (1898); Volume 2: xxxv, (i), 236pp., lxxxvi (1901). EX-LIBRARY SET. Volumes uniformly found in dark purple cloth, with largely clear and bright gilt lettering to spines. Volumes are a bit cocked and hinges are cracked, with a little spacing near gutters. Nonetheless, the volumes are intact, though some care in handling will be required. Covers admit to chipping in places, with the worst of it being at the heads of spines. Light to medium soiling and wear to cloth, with darkening to cloth on spine. Beyond the library treatments to each volume, both contain additional, quaint library and ownership treatments. Mild tanning and foxing to paper. Short, unobtrusive tears and chips to extremities of a small number of pages. Largely inoffensive and fairly faint stains to a good number of leaves, mostly at lower margins of volume 2. Text clean.  Seller Inventory # 037498
