The tables were assembled and placed in a corner with just a lamp on the top table. The tables have never been used other than that. It has literally sat in the corner of the living room with a lamp on it.

If you look closely there are faint lines in the oak effect wood, but this is how the product is made and as received. I have added the dunelm website pictures, where you can also see the faint lines in the wood.
