Timberland makes high quality boots. Don't settle for a cheap rubber sole brand that will fall apart. Timberland uses the same quality as Michelin tires in the rubber of their soles for long-lasting boots. I can't say for certain these boots have that technology but I know in some of their boots they do and are known for quality. I have owned a few pairs of timberlands and are my favorite shoes/boots.

I'm a vegetarian and these boots were only worn once for hiking some trails and climbing some low rocks. As you can see by the inside picture of the shoe the cushioning looks like new. Nothing can smash your foot in these and they are comfortable.
