The 817th Air Base Group was activated 15 June 1956 at Portsmouth (later, Pease Air Force Base), New Hampshire under the 817th Air Division (later, 817th Combat Support Group)

It was inactivated 1 March 1966

This great-looking, rarely-seen, vintage patch was made in 1956
