I have here for sale a book entitled THREE COURSES AND A DESSERT by William Clarke.  Fourth edition published in 1850 by Henry G Bohn, London.  It features 50 of George Cruikshank's very humorous illustrations.  This is a collection of humorous and satirical short stories with West Country, Irish and legal settings (the 'Three Courses') together with a more miscellaneous selection (the 'Dessert').  George Cruikshank is best known for his illustrations in the works of Charles Dickens.

Half green leather on green hardboards.  5 blind stamped bands and silver title lettering to the spine.  Spine faded and some wear to corners.  Boards firm.  Ink inscriptions to the reverse of the frontispiece.  All other pages clean.  Binding tight.  Condition overall is very good.  432 pages, plus 32-page publisher's catalogue.  18 cm x 12 cm.
