Offered for sale here is an outstanding, mega ensemble featuring Canon's legendary A-1 35mm SLR camera. This black, A-1 beauty was the top-of-the-line A-series camera and it was first introduced in April 1978. It has now has become a red hot, cult classic (along with its sister, the AE-1 Program) they appear to be vogue for our modern times.  It is a sophisticated electronic camera with all-digital control. Its viewfinder information was is easy to read with a 7-segment red LED readout. The control settings were displayed at the same time which also makes it very useful. Besides the shutter speed-priority AE and aperture-priority AE modes, it featured the first fully automatic program AE mode, preset aperture-priority AE, and Speedlite AE mode.

 INCLUDED IN THIS LOADED CANON A-1  PACKAGE ARE:

* A GORGEOUS Canon A-1 35mm SLR camera body that bears serial number: 844714. Its Canon date code in the film chamber is: U838P  which indicates that it was manufactured in July 1980. The Canon A-1 for this period were manufactured at Canon's SLR factory in Fukushima, Prefecture, Japan. This is the legendary, Canon A-1 was very advanced for its time. This manual focus 35mm SLR masterpiece made from 1978 to 1985. and it is the BEST camera that Canon made! Quite a  statement? Well this black beauty can back it up! There is no modern day clutter in the viewfinder. You get nothing but your aperture and shutter speed displayed in your viewfinder in red LCD text (and a tiny "M" to indicate you've taken your aperture ring off "A" for a manual exposure. It has exposure modes of aperture-priority, shutter-priority and program automatic! The Canon A1 was the first SLR camera to offer this. You can get a bit more creative and in control with fully manual exposure too; turn the lens off "A" and to your preferred aperture and set the shutter speed in Tv mode. The Canon A-1 was selected as the official 35mm camera of the 1984 Olympic Games. (See commemorative front lens cap below.)

 This A-1 body comes complete with its "Canon Action Grip", a  hot shoe cover, a flash sync port cap, power winder port cap, an original,  "Canon" 4S, rectangular, collapsible rubber eye cup, a working, Duracell 28A  6-volt alkaline battery,  a "Canon" OEM camera strap with a shoulder/neck pad. A pair of strap tri-rings are on the camera strap lugs with camera body protectors. A "Canon" FD camera  body cap with BL (Breech Locking) mount . Its gold, Japanese JMDC inspection sticker that is still in its place on the right top of the prism housing. It also has an original, 103 page instruction manual (see below). Finally, it has a brilliant red, soft, shutter release. You can locate the shutter release faster and execute a quick, steady, shutter release without camera shake. It is like having a controlled hair trigger!

* An original, "Canon A-1 Camera Instruction Manual" ; 103 pages, profusely illustrated, shows very little wear and age, to its covers,  without any severe damage, tears or loose pages; it has the one page of a form citing previously owned Canon equipment inked in (page 101), other than that it it is in very nice shape!  Tight binding, complete!!

* An original, dealer's sales booklet titled: "A New Generation ~ Canon A-1" ; 35 pages,  3 -7/8" x 8 7/8",  full color, two page chart that provides specifications for all FD lenses (including "New FD" line), a nomenclature for the A-1 body and its stock, Canon 50mm f2.8 normal lens, and it covers all the features of the Canon A-1. This is a nice reference. It has a hole punched into one corner and the edges to its covers shows some wear. It is complete and 100% legible!! Published May 1980.

 
THREE (3) CAMERA STRAPS:

* Its "Canon", OEM, 3/8" wide, black, nylon  web, adjustable, camera strap with rubber neck/shoulder pad. This Canon strap is in good shape.

*A vintage, "old hippie style" camera strap. It is a 2" wide tapestry done in a Scottish plaid that is red and black with a thin yellow stripe. Both ends are adjustable. it has black leather ends with swivel J-hooks. (The camera body has a pair of 3/8" wide by an adjustable, five inch length, nylon web camera body protector straps, on the camera strap hubs. It has a slip-resistant, blue suede, backing along with an elastic bandoleer that holds three, spare, rolls of your favorite films. This strap is very comfortable!

*A vintage, 1 3/8" wide with adjustable length, "old hippie style" camera strap. Its motif appears to be of a Greek style, with black edges bordering a blue, intricate, geometric, pattern. It has a slip-resistant, black velvet, backing along with an elastic bandoleer that holds two, spare, rolls of your favorite films.

SIX (6) CANON NEW FD LENSES:

* A FAST, Canon "New" FD 50mm F/1.4 lens that has serial number: 2071828.This "New" FD Version lens was first introduced in June 1979.  Its Canon date code on the rear mount  is: U812, which indicates that it was manufactured in August 1980. It comes with a "Canon" Size "C" hard lens case and it has a C-52, snap-on, commemorative front  lens cap. (This is a 52mm Canon commemorative, lens cap for the 1984 summer Olympic Games that were held  in Los Angeles, California, United States. The Canon A-1 was selected as the official, 35MM camera for the 1984 games. Each participant was issued one as a gift. It also comes with a "Canon" BL (bayonet-locking) rear lens cap,  a "Canon" 52mm, Sky-1A filter with a red, "Canon" filter pouch, filter sheet and worn, factory box.   This N/FD F/1.4 lens has a solid build, it is incredibly sharp, it has great colors and it has very nice bokeh! This latter new FD version has Canon's last an best optical revisions of all of their F/1.4 FL/FD lens designs. It has Canon's multi-layer, Super Spectra Coating, which plays a key part in delivering the sharp, high-contrast results that Canon lenses are renowned for. The end results are high quality photographic images ~ and you will have a "KEEPER" with this fine lens! The Canon A-1 w/ lens FD 50mm 1.4 lens combo was marketed as Canon Item No. C12-1601-862.


* "Canon" BS-52 lens hood. The  BS-52 has become a much in demand and costly accessory.  This lens hood was originally for the FDn 50mm f1.4 and the F1.8 lenses. Its 52mm filter thread will accommodate many other standard, normal lenses.

* Canon "New" FD 100mm F/4 MACRO lens that has serial number: 21322. Its date code is U1101, which indicates that it was made in November 1980. It comes with a Canon C-52, snap-on, front lens cap, a Canon bayonet-locking, rear lens cap, a Vivitar 52mm, circular polarizer filter and a Canon size "E" hard lens case, with carrying strap. An original, "Canon FD 100mm Macro Lens Instruction Book"; Finally, there is a very nice, FD 50-U Extension Tube that allows the lens to achieve a 1:1 Life Size, true macro, images.

* A  Canon "New" FD 28mm F/2.8 Wide Angle lens that has serial number: 228037 . Its date code is U707, which indicates that it was made in July 1980. This Canon Wide- Angle lens comes with a good 52mm filter, Canon front and rear lens caps, a black, Canon hard lens case and a collapsible, rubber, 52mm wide-angle lens hood..  Whether using a modern classic such as the Canon A-1 or a new mirror-less camera with suitable adapter, shooting the 28mm F/2.8 is the same as any other Canon FD or FDn lens. On film cameras with Auto Exposure modes, set the lens’ aperture ring to “A” and the camera will handle stopping the aperture down at the moment of shutter release to create a perfectly exposed shot. If you want control over depth-of-field, rotate the aperture ring to any F-stop and the automatic aperture lever will preselect your desired aperture, enabling wide-open through-the-lens metering.

* A  Canon "New" FD 35-70mm F/3.5 Zoom lens that has serial number: 1268055 . Its date code is Y204, which indicates that it was made in February 1984. The 35-70mm f/4 is unusually sharp right out to the corners, even wide-open, and has little or no distortion throughout most of the zoom range. The Canon FD 35-70/4 is also built tough; it's almost all-metal. It's a two-ring zoom. There are no weird macro settings; it focuses directly down to 1.6 feet (0.5 meters) at all focal lengths as part of the regular focus range.
*  Canon "New" FD 70-150mm F/4.5 Zoom lens that has serial number: 174856 . Its date code is V808, which indicates that it was made in August 1981. It has its own, retractable, built-in lens hood, "Canon front and rear lens caps, a Hoya (Japan) 52mm, Skylight (1B) filter and a black, generic, draw-string, lens pouch. This lens covers the focal lengths of three fixed focal length telephoto lenses (85mm, 100mm, and 135mm) and zooms between the focal lengths of 70mm and 150mm, which are not found in any fixed focal length lenses. It compact size and light weight make it a nice choice for a travel lens. 

*  Canon "New" FD 70-210mm F/4 Zoom lens that has serial number: 633071 . Its date code is X1206, which indicates that it was made in  December 1983.  It's sharp, nice contrast, zooms butter smooth and it is easy to operate due to the push-pull focus/zoom ring. Nice zoom range, well built!! Optically Excellent! This lens comes with a Canon 58mm snap-on, front lens cap, a  Canon breech-locking, rear lens cap, a Tamron screw-in, lens hood, a good 58mm filter and a mismatched, worn and oversize, "Canon" hard, lens case with strap.

NOTE: The Canon FDn lenses are easily adapted for use on the modern crop of mirror-less machines such as from Fujifilm and Sony. Simply buy an adapter from  eBay, attach your lens and camera, and enjoy this fantastic legacy glass coupled with today’s modern conveniences. Buy a glass-less adapter that enables infinity focus for the purest results and you’ll be good to go. It offers 75.4º of wide, along with being light and compact. They can produce excellent results with an interesting perspective!!

*An original, booklet titled: "Canon FD Interchangeable Lenses"; 59 pages, 6 1/4" x 4 3/4", covers entire line of N/FD lenses, beautiful full-color plates, published: December 1975.



* A NEW/OLD STOCK, "Canon Motor Drive MA Set" that bears serial number: 453523, with a Canon date code of: V901, which indicates that it was manufactured in September 1981. All components in this set appear as unused;  the battery compartment is pristine! The box shows some shelf wear and age. The Canon Motor Drive MA is an accessory designed originally for the Canon A-1 in 1978 which will wind the film automatically. But it can also be used with the AE-1 Program that was introduced later in 1981 (It is not advisable to use it with other A series models). Two separate power sources, the Battery Pack MA or the Ni-Cd Pack MA (not included) are available for the Motor Drive MA. With Battery Pack MA, sequential shooting at up to five frames per second (fps) is possible ( 4 fps with the AE-1 Program) and an instant high speed button permits instant access to the highest speed for fast-breaking shots.

 The shooting speeds for the Battery Pack MA are: S - Single frame; L - Low - 3.5 fps (frames per second) and H -High -  5 fps.  Using new carbon-zinc or alkaline-manganese batteries. At 5 frames per second, the Battery Pack MA blows the doors off of the earlier Canon Winders A and A2, whose top speeds were a mere 2 fps.

This Canon Motor Drive MA Set uses twelve (12), working, 1.5V, AA-size, alkaline batteries  (All 12 batteries are included and loaded in battery pack ~ READY TO RUMBLE!



*A "Canon LC-1 Wireless Remote Control Set". You are going to have fun with this baby! The Wireless Controller LC-1 permits shooting by wireless from up to 60 meters (196.85 feet) away, making it ideal for wildlife photography. This remote control device uses infrared light to control cameras from a distance. The LC-1 is particularly useful in sports and wildlife photography, news coverage and numerous other fields. This  "Canon LC-1 Wireless Controller" Set consists of: a transmitter with two, working, 1.5 volt, AA  alkaline batteries and a receiver with one working, 9 volt, alkaline battery. A Canon" LC-1 metal, mounting bracket (for camera models that do not have an accessory shoe),  It has its original, vinyl "Canon" carrying/storage case with a snap compartment for the bracket. Both battery compartments are clean. The receiver uses 1-9volt battery and the transmitter uses 4-AA 1.5 batteries (ALL batteries included). All of the components have beautiful cosmetics!
