VERY RARE!!!!! Antique Vintage "RED STAR - MODEL 303" COPPER & BRASS FIRE EXTINGUISHER" - for your consideration, this is an Antique Copper and Brass Fire Extinguisher that was manufactured by the GENERAL DETROIT CORPORATION, out of CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, DETROIT, MICHIGAN, and NEW YORK, NEW YORK, U.S.A.  This antique has its original bronze cap and it is in great shape as the red high gloss enamel paint has been restored.  THIS ANTIQUE IS EMPTY & DOES NOT HAVE ANY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS!!!!  IT IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE.  LOOK, LOOK, LOOK at the pictures, as they tell the true story as to the condition of this beauty.

I started this one at a lower price because this antique has had a rougher life than others.  There are clear dings and blemishes from prior use in fighting fires.  I was able to polish this beauty back to a mirror finish but I cannot remove dings, blemishes or creases.  Everything good and bad is clearly depicted in the photographs.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE look at the pics as they tell the true story on the condition of this antique.

This will make for a unique and perfect gift for any collector or fire fighter.  This beauty is very old as it is a copper & brass extinguisher with copper rivets along the back.  TRULY RARE and ONE OF A KIND with the high gloss red enamel paint restored!!!  As the pictures so, this one is polished to the point that you can see yourself in the copper and brass.  DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS BEAUTY!!!!!  The original extinguisher hose is still with this antique and I have polished the brass connections to a mirror finish.  There are some minor blemishes on the antique, but overall this antique shows very well.  The few signs of use are because this was an actual piece of fire fighting history.  Please, please, please look at the photographs as they tell the true story of the condition of this antique.

Please Note - Along the top, where the cap normally screws onto the body of the extinguisher, a previous owner ground off the ridges that the cap would normally attach to.  Why they did this, I have no idea but the cap does still sit firmly and neatly onto the extinguisher, so it is still a fantastic display piece.

The pictures tell the true story of this beautiful antique piece of fire fighting history. This is a RARE extinguisher as it has a beautiful copper shell body with the original brass embossed plates. The original high gloss red enamel paint for the brass embossed plates has also been restored as well. I have restored the original paint on the cap and the front brass plates with high gloss black and red enamel paint. I would note two flat spots along the top and some rippling along the bottom from prior use of the extinguisher.  Also, the brass on the labels is thinning and has a slight tear along the right bottom.  I can clean, polished and even restore the paint to these antiques but I cannot remake the metal.  These are natural blemishes that occur from prior use to fight fires, so please keep that in mind.

Everything on this piece just shines and tells a fantastic story of fire fighting history.  This antique has an Underwriter Laboratories Brass Tag with a six digit serial number of "782932."  These beauties date back to the early 1910s to the 1920s, so this is approximately 100 years old.

Please, please, please look at all the photographs.  I have shined this antique as well as possible but this was a tool to fight fires and condition of the copper shows it has been used to fight fires.  There are a few noticeable blemishes because any real antique is not mint because it is a real piece.  DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS BEAUTY!!!!

This will be a great centerpiece or conversation piece. DO NOT MISS OUT!!!!!!! This antique has the copper rivets along the back, and they are shined. The construction and serial number of this beautiful antique dates this extinguisher to the early 1900's.  This piece of history has copper rivets along the backside as well, giving it a wonderful antique and rustic look.

The copper body and the copper rivets along the back are all present, in great condition, and clearly shown in the photographs. I have polished the brass connectors to a mirror finish as well. The extinguisher measures 24" tall with an 8 and 1/4" diameter. The copper body had been shined and the true condition is shown in all of the photographs. There are minor blemishes to this real piece of fire fighting history.  Any blemishes are seen in the photographs, as this was a piece of fire fighting history and not a repop piece, so please keep that in mind. Given this antique's age, the condition of this beauty is remarkable. Also, this antique has its original hose and the brass connectors have been polished. Overall, this is a truly beautiful piece.  PLESE LOOK AT THE PICTURES.  IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND THE TRUE CONDITION OF THIS EXTINGUISHER IS FULLY SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS.  DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS BEAUTY.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your time and good luck on the auction.  I do not ship internationally (outside the United States).  Please do not bid if you do not have a shipping address within the United States, as U.S. customs' law to ship even an empty fire extinguisher is to complex and difficult to handle or pay for.  PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES, THEY SHOW THE TRUE CONDITION OF THIS ANTIQUE.  THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK.
