The mechanics have been checked, the engine seems to work perfectly, but it was not possible to test with film.

Built in 1956, this stunning movie camera is equipped with a 10mm Zeiss Movitar f/1.9 lens. It weighs 0.975 kg. and measures 147x85x65mm. It has a green metal body, with gray inserts. This movie camera was designed to look like a still camera.
At first glance, the Zeiss Ikon Movikon 8 doesn't look like an 8mm film camera.
8mm film cameras usually adopt a vertical, tall and thin design, in which the two film reels are positioned vertically, such that the film bed can fit easily and directly into the film port. The Movikon 8 instead adopts a horizontal, short and fat design. The 2 spools of film are arranged horizontally, where the film is twisted 90 degrees before entering the spool and then is twisted another 90 degrees after exiting the spool.

Zeiss Ikon began marketing the Movikon 8 in 1952. It has a cast metal body with a rippled gray finish, perfectly steam molded, with all corners rounded. It has a strong space design feel, or it can look like a submarine.

The front of the camera and even the film spool are embossed with the classic Zeiss Ikon logo.
