Listed and pictured here is a lot of 40 comics that are all from various series featuring Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier. Some of these comics are official Winter Soldier titles and some are various comics that he either appears in as a guest (such as Black Widow or Thunderbolts), or even starred in (such as Captain America).
In a paragraph or two: Bucky Barnes was one of the two oldest child superhero sidekicks in comic book folklore (the other, of course being Dick Grayson, Robin/Nightwing). He fought alongside Captain America in World War II, and during a fateful accident in 1945 while he and Cap were thwarting a plan of Baron Zemo’s; they both were ejected from a rocket into the ocean. Both frozen and reanimated later (Rogers by the Avengers, Barnes by Russian forces); with Barnes being brainwashed into one of the world’s most prominent and mysterious assassins and retaining his youth and vigor by being put in suspended animation after each mission was complete. A few years ago, Captain America found this shocking information out and while in confrontation with Bucky over the cosmic cube, the cube restored Barnes’ memories and freed him from brainwashing.
Barnes worked closely with Nick Fury and Steve Rogers from this point on, but the reunion was short lived as Steve became one of the protagonists of the superhuman Civil War. This caused his apparent death - which meant that someone had to take up the mantle. After some adventures with Falcon, Sharon Carter, and Black Widow all working together, Barnes became the new Captain America. William Burnside (former Captain America while Bucky and Cap were presumed dead), Red Skull with his daughter Sin, and others fought to destroy “Bucky Cap” but the person who succeeded was Helmut Zemo - who exposed Cap as the Winter Soldier. After trial, jail, and escape, he seemingly died at the hands of Red Skull’s daughter Sin. An emergency serum via Nick Fury saved his life, and that’s pretty much how the adventures of the heroic version of Winter Soldier came to be.
Some of these comics contain parts of the above story, but many definitely focus on what happened after all of this, with Bucky fully established as one of the most prominent heroes in the Marvel Universe!
These comics are, on average, in VF or NM condition, some are slightly higher or lower (so I give a grade of 9.0 average condition). Definitely a high grade condition lot overall, anything in VF- below condition if applicable, will be indicated below. The comics are all bagged and boarded.
