Here we have an extremely rare mocha decorated pitcher.  Dating to the 1820s, this is uniquely decorated.  On the top grey glazed band are 4 over-lapping waves of thickly applied, and raised, white glaze.  On the lower grey band are 4 white glazed waves with “S” scrolls over-lapping them.  These decorations are unique to this pitcher and were not known to Jonathan Rickard when he was shown the pitcher.  With its baluster shape, this is a typical and attractive early UK form.  Measuring 6” in height to the rim, by 4 ¼” across the base and 4 ½” across the rim, this survives in its original mint condition.  At 200+ years old, this extremely rare pitcher survives because it has been cherished and lovingly cared for by many generations of owners.  Today, any advanced collector would be pleased to own and cherish this exceptional pitcher.
