Here we have an extremely rare straight or flat sided cylindrical pepper pot dating from 1810 to 1840.  This stunning pepper pot is decorated with 4 nicely formed cable or earthworm loops around the side.  The cable is a continuous white, blue and brown three-color slip.  Being pearlware, you can see a faint blue tint where the glaze pooled.  The top of the pepper pot was molded as a separate piece and fitted to the base when the clay was still wet.  The holes on top are in no regular pattern surmounted with a delicate pointed finial.  Measuring 5” in height the pepper pot has been cherished for 200 years and is in original mint condition.   This would be prized by any serious collector of mochaware.
