• Cover wear: moderate handling wear; front and back cover have browning inside; a few tiny edge tears on front
• Cover creases: small vertical bends along reading edge; 3" vertical crease across "IME" in CRIME
• Soiling, staining: soiling and light stains on covers; inside pages have numerous finger stains on edges
• Dates / stamps: none
• Spine roll: yes; page fanning on reverse
• Spine split: completely split between staples; also a 1-1/2" split at top, and 1/2" at bottom
• Staples: no rust
• Staple tears: 1/2" and 3/16" at bottom staple, 3/16" at top
• Rust migration: N/A
• Stress lines: no notable lines other than staple tears
• Corners: abraded and rounded; top right is blunted from edge wear
• Centerfold: tight
• Interior tears: one page has a small piece missing from bottom margin (about 5/16" x 3/16"); one small corner crease
• Paper quality / color: supple; tanned; very good colors
• Acid odor: none noted
• Missing pieces: front cover is missing a small edge piece at top right; reverse is missing a large corner (1-3/4" x 1-1/2") at top of spine, a tiny piece at top left, and bottom right. Inside, one page has a small piece missing from bottom margin (about 5/16" x 3/16")
• Amateur repairs: none
• Coupon cut: none
• Readability: very good; complete
• Back cover: low reflectivity; soiling and light stains; aforementioned missing pieces

All things considered, I have graded this book POOR (0.5) largely due to its nearly complete spine split
