This original oil painting by Alanda Calmus features a lovely Starling. The artwork measures 23x24cm and is created using high quality pastels on Claire Fontaine pastelmat paper. Sennelier iridescent pastels have been used to paint the starling, which in the right light give a subtle sheen to the bird much in the same way that starling feathers shine in the sunlight. The abstract background has been creates using Dr martin's liquid watercolour and salt to create this unusual effect which makes this artwork quite unique.
