For sale is a vintage Gruen Pan American Eagle men's wristwatch.

Circa late 1940s. Reference 420-534.

The Pan American model was originally made for the Pan American World Airways during WW2; launched for the general public in 1945.

The present example features a unique case with two tone yellow and white gold filled top and stainless steel back. Case has some obvious wear (plating loss, tarnish) on the surface. Original dial, hands and crown. Dial has few spots of discoloration as seen in pictures. 

Manual winding 17 jewels caliber 420 movement. Watch is in good working order. Unknown service history.

Case measures 32mm wide excluding crown by 38mm long.

Comes on a replacement band. No box or papers.
