Oil on canvas. Signed Nilsson to the lower left. Age ca. 1950s. Fine tavern interior from the famous bohemian restaurant and bar “ Skindbuksen” Located in Copenhagen. Depicted are the famous Danish poet, Jens August Schade (1903-1978) and Danish modernist painter, Svend Aage Tauscher (1911-1984). Framed in its authentic frame. A rare oil by Danish Modernist painter, Willy Nilsson (1920). A certificate of authenticity will be included with this work.
Condition:
Ready to hang. In good condition with no holes, tears or missing paint. The oil could use a light cleaning, due to the age. The original frame has minor scratches due to the age.

Listed Danish modernist painter. Born in Copenhagen in 1920. He worked and traveled in France, Spain and Italy during the early 20th century. He is best known for his series of cityscapes of European capitals and for his intimate portrayal of the Copenhagen bohemian culture. He worked and exhibited in Paris and Bordeaux as well as in Barcelona, Madrid and Cadiz.
