VTG 1980s M.T.X. sweater.  It's black and white.  

What I love about the sweater is the pattern.  I especially like the different types of knit used to make the shapes stand out.  You can see this in the detail photos.

The tag says 18W/38.  This does NOT fit like an 18W/38.  But this is a vintage sweater so it does not correspond to modern day sizing.  Here are the measurements taken with sweater lying flat:

Length of front as seen in the photo: about 19 3/8".

Length of back as seen in the photo: about 22 3/8".

Shoulder measurement from seam to seam: about 20 1/2".

Arm measurement from shoulder seam to wrist: about 19 3/4".

Chest measurement across chest as seen in photo: about 18 1/2".

Please use these measurements as a comparison to a sweater you own that fits you well.

Having tried it on, it fits like a modern day womens small.

Before listing it, I washed it gently in unscented detergent and let it dry flat so it's clean and ready to wear.  It's from a nonsmoking home.  No stains or holes.  It has a small amount of pilling that is consistent with the age of the sweater.  It isn't that noticeable and looks natural but I wanted to let you know about it in advance.  The last photo shows an example of this.
