Waltham Grade E "Seaside Quality" Solid 18K Gold Hunting Pocket Watch ca. 1888.  This antique Waltham Seaside grade E, model 1873, 7 jewel, 6 size pocket watch has a solid 18k yellow gold hunter case measuring approximately 40.25mm in diameter x 2 1/4 inches long including bow.  The case is completely hand engraved with foliage, flowers, birds and mountainous scene on one side.  The case also has a lined texture edge and bezel.  This case has the start of a very light patina and has very light wear for it's age.  The front, back and dust cover hinges open, close and secure properly.  The inside front cover is stamped "K18 - R9587".  The white enamel dial has Roman numerals, a single sunk seconds register at six, and is marked "Am. Watch Co. Waltham".  The dial is in great condition with no hairlines or chipping.  The inside back cover is stamped "AWCO - R9587 - K18".  The inside dust cover is stamped "18K - R9587".  The dust cover has a small dent, as pictured.  The gilt movement is stamped "American Waltham Watch Co. - 3464183 - Safety Pinion".  All screws and jewels appear to be in good condition.  Stem wind, lever set.  This watch is running 3 - 4 minutes slow per 24 hours.  No guarantee of future performance.  This antique pocket watch is in overall excellent condition.  59 grams total weight.  ca. 1888
