Note: Small moth bites in 2 places: A single one on the back of the hat (see pic) and 4 tiny ones around the bow (see pic). 

Also: Regarding the unusual open seam at the front of the hat band, according to a fedora collector, this was a Borsalino upgrade: The open seam allows more airflow into the hat. Additional cooling makes the hat more comfortable in heat.
