For sale is an original Dobro DM75 engraved 'Lily of the Valley', now very much a collector's item. It is set up for 'normal' guitar playing and has a Schatten RG-03 dobro pickup installed under the cone. Originally purchased from The Mandolin Brothers, Staten Island, New York in 1997, it is in very good condition for its age and comes with its original Dobro case.

The guitar features the very pretty Lily of the Valley design which is engraved on the front, back and sides of the triple chrome plated bell brass body, the traditional fan cover-plate and trapeze tailpiece, round neck, bound neck & headstock, Holly headstock overlay, maple neck and ebony fingerboard with lovely mother-of-pearl inlay markers and a spider bridge resonator.

The Mother of Pearl inlays on the ebony fretboard are arguably the prettiest variant that Dobro ever used on their guitars and this particular design is incredibly hard to find nowadays.

The serial number on the headstock reads: 8   201   B.

8 is the decade of manufacture (8=1980’s).
The centre 3-digit number 2 or 3 or 4 numerals in centre are the serial numbers for its year.
The last letter signifies body type: D=wood and in this case, B=metal.

This instrument has been well looked after and whilst there are some light/faint marks of use to certain areas of the chrome as is expected with age, it is in very good condition for a 40-year-old guitar. There is only one small mark that could be remotely called a `ding’ and this can be included in a photo. Not the first owner, but to the best of my knowledge, the guitar still has its original resonator cone.

With its very solid original case, the overall weight is quite heavy. It is also both rare and valuable and it would be better if this instrument was collected in person rather than sent.

This instrument is advertised elsewhere on the web. Respectable offers considered.
