A gorgeous romantic antique opal & enamel trefoil pendant set in 15ct gold. The three heart shaped solid opals have a lovely play of colour, displaying reds and turquoises in particular, complemented by rich red enamelling and a little old cut diamond to the centre.

It will date to the late 19th century to early 20th century.

It comes complete with a 9ct gold barrel clasp chain, that will date to the early part of the 20th century.

Marks: pendant bail is marked ‘15’ for 15ct gold and tests to 15 ct gold. Applied tag to chain marked ‘9ct’ for 9 carat gold and maker’s mark ‘ACC’.

Approximate Dimensions: pendant drop of 2.2cm including bail, width of 1.9cm, solid opal hearts 5 x 5mm, chain 18 inches (46cm).

Condition: very good antique condition. The three heart shaped opals are free of chips and cracks. One has a scratch visible on close inspection (see photos)z The enamel is in excellent condition with only very minor wear to some edges (no chips or cracks) only visible under a jewellers loupe. The pendant and chain only have minor age related wear.

The necklace will be sent in the new dark green antique style box shown in the photos, ideal for gifting and safekeeping. The pendant is being sold with the complimentary chain however if a chain is not required please enquire as the pendant can be sold separately.
