Hi

This club is Long Nose Play Club circa 1885. The crown is stamped J&D Clark. 44 1/2 “ length and approximately 10* of loft. The shaft is also stamped so I can assume it’s original. Leather inset for the face and an unusual horn leading edge which is held by 6 wooden pegs. The grip was shot so I did replace it with a period long leather that is in good condition. Everything else on the club is as I bought it. A very rare club in very good condition. Great collector’s piece!

From Antique Golf Clubs from Scotland…….. J&D Clark were club makers to Dunbar Gold Club until 1899. Particularly known for their gutty ball making there were three Clark brothers and were all apprentices of Willie Park.
