You get the exact item pictured in used condition. It comes to you as is. I would have no idea how to install this to even test it and I do not know if a parts are missing. It is a retractable light fixture, you can pull on it and it does move a little on both ends of the middle piece but I have no idea how much this is supposed to retract or move. It has 3 light sockets. Measures 14 inches across the largest part, the part that goes flush against the ceiling, measures 5 inches across.
